Driveway Cleaning in Dublin & Meath

Cleaning and restoration for block paving, imprinted concrete, tarmac, natural stone, patios and paths across Dublin and Meath.

What we look at before cleaning a driveway

The surface decides the method. Block paving, concrete, tarmac and natural stone all behave differently under pressure, so the first thing Brian does is work out what he's dealing with and how far gone it is. Heavy moss and years of staining are a different job to a driveway that's just looking tired.

Get that wrong and you can do real damage. Tarmac treated like hard stone will lift. Block paving washed without re-sanding is left looser than it started. Brian will walk you through what applies to yours.

Surfaces we clean and restore

  • Block paving: deep clean, moss & weed removal, re-sanding and sealing
  • Imprinted concrete: cleaning and resealing to restore colour and protection
  • Natural stone & granite: gentle restoration of steps, patios and paths
  • Tarmac: moss treatment and restoration for drives and car parks
  • Decking & wood cladding: proper deck cleaners and sealers that make timber last

What affects the price of driveway cleaning?

Size and material are the big ones. After that it comes down to how much moss, weed growth and staining there is, how easily equipment and water reach the area, and whether you want it re-sanded or sealed afterwards. Photos help for a first look, but we'll confirm the work before quoting.

Read the driveway-cleaning cost guide or send Brian a few photos on WhatsApp.

Cleaning natural-stone patios

This Indian sandstone patio had weed growth in the joints and dirt across the slabs. The second photograph shows the same area after cleaning and re-jointing:

Commercial cleaning and after-care

We do commercial work too: forecourts, car parks, school grounds, hotels and leisure centres. That can take in gum, graffiti, mould, staining and mildew removal.

If a site needs regular upkeep rather than a one-off, we'll put an after-care plan together around the surface and how hard it gets used.

What happens when you book a driveway clean

Brian quotes every job himself. Call him on 086 0222 035, or send a few photos on WhatsApp if you'd rather get a rough idea first. Photos are handy for a first look, but he'll always see the surface in person before he puts a price on it.

It's free, and there's no obligation. What he needs from you is straightforward: where the job is, roughly how big it is, what the surface is made of, and what's actually bothering you about it. Moss. Weeds coming up through the joints. An oil stain that won't shift. Colour that has gone flat.

Two things make the day go smoothly. Access is the first, meaning somewhere to park nearby and an outdoor tap and socket within reach of the area being cleaned. The second is whatever sits around the edges. Planting, paintwork and render all want covering before any pressure goes near them, and Brian will tell you beforehand if anything needs shifting.

Cleaning, then re-sanding and sealing

Cleaning and sealing aren't the same job, and not every driveway needs both. A clean on its own brings the surface back. Sealing and re-sanding are the extras that hold that result for longer.

Block paving is the obvious one. Washing it lifts the dirt, but it lifts the kiln-dried sand out of the joints too, and that sand is what locks the blocks together and keeps the weeds down. Re-sanding puts it back. Imprinted concrete is a different story: there the step is resealing, which brings the colour up and puts a protective layer over it. Tarmac needs neither. That job is moss treatment and getting the finish back without tearing up the surface.

Brian will tell you which of these your driveway actually needs and which it doesn't, and he'll only quote for what you agree to.

Where we clean driveways in Dublin and Meath

Most of our driveway cleaning work is across North Dublin and the neighbouring parts of County Meath. In Dublin that regularly means Swords, Malahide, Portmarnock, Howth, Sutton, Baldoyle, Raheny, Clontarf, Artane, Santry, Killester, Whitehall, Glasnevin and Finglas. In Meath it regularly means Ratoath, Ashbourne, Dunshaughlin and Navan.

That's where we are most weeks, not a hard boundary. If you're nearby but not on the list, ring and describe the job and we'll tell you straight whether we'd travel to it. There's a fuller list on the areas we cover page.
